Ladybug Ladybug Sprig Blossom

Ladybug, Ladybug Sprig Blossom by Arne Hansen is my attempt to evoke the look of traditional Chinese and Japanese ink wash painting.  Inspired when I found a ladybug on a blossom sprig one beautiful spring day. I captured the sprig of blossoms silhouetted against a brilliant blue sky. The camera is set to meter the image hoping for the right crop. Also, I hoped to create the image to convert to black and white.  My expectations are realized in this great image. This photo was stored in my library untouched for two years. Finally, using Lightroom, I processed the image to a minimalist high-key black and white. The finishing touch involved colorizing the image with a blue radial filter that excluded color to the Ladybug in the blossom's center.
