Nino Oliastro | Decomposition of an Icon

The Nino Oliastro "Decomposition of an Icon" image created when three VW's caught my eye while traveling to the desired destination on a photo shoot day.  The Volkswagen bug has a significant impact on the automotive world. These three VW's are a fabulous find to help tell a short story because they've been left to the elements for quite some time. I wonder how these three VW's lived out the first part of their life. Where did they come from? Were they maintained and loved? At least they can spend the rest of their time together as they decay into the earth.

VW beetles are gone but not forgotten, and this image offers a lasting record of just three rusted VW's sitting in the middle of a field. I think the name of this image (Decomposition of an Icon) is just perfect.  I really like photographing cars and trucks, especially those that appear to have had an active life. Nature might be taking over these beauties as they rot into the soil. But we can still admire them as they live out the rest of their life untouched in this grassy pasture.
