Pamela Russell Into the Nectar

The Pamela Russell Into the Nectar image is one of many butterfly images in my library. If photographing butterflies is something you enjoy doing, then one of the best locations to do is that Phipps Conservatory in Pittsburgh. Every year beginning in April and ending when the last butterfly leaves, which could be November, Phipps Conservatory fills their butterfly room with new cacoons panels every Tuesday. A wide variety of butterflies and plenty of beautiful flowers provide for an awesome experience.

I shoot the image, Into the Nectar photo with a Nikon D700 full-frame camera and a 70-300mm set to macro.  With this equipment, I can capture stunning photographs in the butterfly room and the outdoor garden. I return every year because It’s like Christmas when I get home and load the images. Very often, I open files and see exactly what I captured. The Into the Nectar image surprised and delighted me.
